A Pointless Love (A Poem)
This poem was inspired by the book I am reading at the moment (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin). You are my enemy. A man I must hate, A man who has helped us to starve, A man who doesn’t give second chances, A man who is helping to take our freedom. You are my friend. A man who is always polite, A man who is educated and talented, A man who tolerates our unkindness without reproach, A man who saved us from a mine. You are my lover. A man who never jepodises my honor, A man who is gentle to me and kind. A man who shows me the world past my door A man who respects me and my culture. But you are Italian and I am Greek, And it is the second world war.
