Walking With Ghosts

Walking With Ghosts Part Fifteen

Chloe was at work when you banged on our front door

Crying hysterically

You fell into me before I had registered it was you

Catching you in my arms before hitting the floor,

Clutching at my T-Shirt you kept saying you loved me over and over again

Sitting in the hall, with you in my arms, you eventually stopped hiccupping with sobs

I stood up pulling you with me, telling you straight I loved your sister, not you

That before had been a mistake

The melodramatics vanished as quick as switching off a tap

With a flash of your dark eyes

A hand came up, slapping me hard across the face

Caught off balance I staggered in shock as you slammed the door behind you.

Kneeling in front of you, like a starving dog

I am confessing my sins

Your hand rests on my arm
